Giants Causeway Cliff Path Walking & Coach Tour

THIS TOUR IS SUSPENDED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE

Dear Customer,

Due to the Covid-19 outbreak, this tour is temporarily out of operation. We hope to get this back up and running as soon as possible with the deadline being 1st April 2021.

We are however beginning the operation of some tours. On 3rd July 2020 the Belfast City Sightseeing Tour is back and from the 20th July 2020 our Giants Causeway Tour and Game of Thrones Tour will begin again. We look forward to seeing you all soon!

The guided clifftop walk at the Giant's Causeway is an all-inclusive, full-day luxury coach tour from central Belfast which includes a spectacular 5 mile (8k) coastal hike along some of the best cliff views in Europe, a visit to the Causeway stones, Causeway visitor centre, a Carrick-A-Rede rope bridge crossing and a stunning coastal drive through the Glens of Antrim, fishing villages and a photo stop at Carrickfergus Castle. (Please note the coast walk is a shorter, 4-mile coastal walk, in winter).

As part of a larger coach tour, you will depart from Belfast making your way inland directly to the Giant's Causeway, where you will be met by your dedicated walking tour guide. Instead of departing the coach you will be transported further along the coast to Dunseverick Castle ruin (or Portballintrae in winter). The hike is suitable for those of average fitness with an interest in spending some quality time in the outdoors. At just 5 miles the walking tour includes amazing views, time for photographs, points of interest guided commentary, a quality visit to the main Giant's Causeway site and a brief visit to the visitor centre before rejoining the main coach tour. (Walking time including a visit to the stones is three and a half hours in summer and two and a half hours in winter with most tours enjoying ample time of approximately 20 minutes on the causeway stones). It is essential to bring a packed lunch to eat on the coach after your walk.

The tour continues to the Carrick-A-Rede rope bridge where your tour ticket to cross are included (weather permitted). The bridge is 20 metres across and 30 metres above the sea, connecting the mainland to a small island.

After your cliff walk to the Giant's Causeway and your exhilarating rope bridge crossing you can rejoin the coach for a relaxing and utterly beautiful coastal drive. The journey includes the beautiful coastal locations of Cushendun, Cushendall, Glenariff and Glenarm as you drive along the world-famous Antrim Coast Road. The final stop along the coast is a photo opportunity at the amazing Carrickfergus Castle built in 1177.

The tour including the small group cliff walk, guided coach tour from Belfast, access to the causeway visitor centre, rope bridge crossing and coast drive is just £57 per person. (Purchased separately these attractions and tours would cost £79.50!). The minimum age for the cliff hike is 12, it is recommended that those aged between 12 and 16 have experience doing long walks.

Cliff hike places are limited, on very rare occasions, if the weather forecast suggests strong winds on the high cliffs, we may alter the walking route slightly.

Please note that the cliff hike option means you will not visit the Bushmills Whiskey Distillery nor see Dunluce Castle ruin. All cliff walkers will need to bring their own light portable lunch to be eaten either on the hike at rest stops or on the coach after the walk.

Warm Clothing
Please come dressed appropriately for not only the season but also for the activity. In our experience hiking shoes or boots are better than trainers. Denim jeans are never a good idea in inclement weather. Layers are best, a base layer with something warm/windproof followed by a waterproof layer. Please dress for any weather. There is no such thing as cold weather, just wrong clothes!

Packed Lunch
You spend a sizeable part of your day out in the stunning Irish landscape. Bring a light and portable lunch which you can either eat at the main view point (Hamilton's Seat) along the cliffs or on your coach drive to the rope bridge.
